2018 Mercedes Benz S Class facelift
All the models now come with redesigned front and rear fascias but you will need squinted eyes to spot them. The new S-Class, powered by six and eight-cylinder models, now gets a new grille that was previously exclusive to V12 models. The LED headlight and taillights are updated with revised internals. Also, two new 20-inch wheel designs are available.
The S63 also gets a new AMG Speedshift MCT nine-speed automatic, that combined with the boosted V8 hustles the sedan to 60 miles per hour in 3.4 seconds. The S65 soldiers on with its 621-horsepower V12.
Its active lane-centering function will steer the car through tighter curves than before, and it’s capable of intervening even if the road lines are poorly applied or nonexistent. When the steering assistant is active, using the turn signals will result in an automated lane change, provided the path ahead is clear.
As reported earlier, this particular hybrid drivetrain will also appear in a performance-oriented version of the E-class Coupe. The rumoured Mercedes-AMG E50 is said to develop over 400hp when petrol power is combined with electricity.
