Citroën launches an E-Méhari by Courrège
The vehicle developed by Citroën in collaboration with Courrèges plays on the contrast of colors, with a very dark exterior Vinyl Black and an interior of fabric entirely coated with plasticized (PET) white. In particular, it offers its own range of new equipment, already foreshadowing the next generation of E-Mehari, including a rigid roof (which allows to ride freely whatever the weather), side windows, steel bars and central locking.
This is the consequence of an economic design, Citroën being content to restyler the Bolloré Bluesummer. This allowed him to quickly have a small electric vehicle in his range, a product for the image and not the sales volumes.
Fully handmade in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine), e-Méhari had to adapt to Bolloré’s technical choices because it retained all the architecture of the platform and the lithium-metal- Polymer integrated in the floor.
A solid lithium battery of 30 kWh is therefore found, which needs to be plugged almost permanently to maintain its temperature and not deteriorate. A winter mode is available for parking in second homes. But it takes long hours to get the car back on track.
